2.4 Weekly Happenings - Red Ribbon Week

The Pioneers

This week, we are exploring and discovering so much more.  Our weekly objectives are as follows:
  • Math - We are using partial products to multiply 2 digit/3 digit by 1 digit numbers and 2 digit by 2 digit numbers.
  • Science - We are continuing to learn about the different types of energy, and students will have the opportunity to present their Domo Animate animations to extend their learning on how electrical energy can be transferred into light and sound energy.
  • Writing - We will conduct interviews to create class biographies of our peers.
Learning is infinite!  Please make sure your child is studying their multiplication facts and completing their spelling activities at home.  Practice makes permanent, so log onto http://www.spellingcity.com/ to practice your spelling in a variety of ways.

Please feel free to email or call me at any time.  I am here to help!

School Wide
This week launches our annual Red Ribbon Week!  This year's theme is "Give Drugs the Boot".  Many activities will take place throughout the week.  The daily activities include:
  • Monday: Red Day - Wear a red shirt with uniform pants
  • Tuesday: "Put a Cap on Drugs" Day - Wear caps or hats
  • Wednesday: "Give Drugs the Boot" Day - Wear boots
  • Thursday: "Stay in the Game-Be Drug Free" Day - Wear sports team shirts
  • Friday: "I'm a JEANius.  I'm Drug Free" Day - Wear spirit shirts with jeans
In addition, we will collect can goods because we "CAN" live drug free.  Donation boxes will be stationed throughout the school for everyone to contribute.
